Superdream Australia – a national award-winning agency

Less than a year after the launch of Superdream’s first international office right here in Brisbane, the Superdream Australia team is on the lookout for a bigger trophy cabinet!

Not long after winning (link: http://www.campaignbrief.com/2016/09/superdream-defeats-engine-in-t.html text: The Pitch) on ABC’s panel show, Gruen, we were delighted to receive a nomination for our ‘Can I Foster?’ campaign in the ‘Integrated Marketing and Communications Strategy’ category at the PRIA’s 2016 Golden Target Awards.

Not only did Superdream Australia win the category at the Queensland awards, we also saw off some (link: http://pria.newsroom.com.au/Content/Default/01-News-Releases/Article/National-Golden-Target-Awards-Finalists-Announced/-3/27/9380 text: serious competition) to take home the national award!

Created for Key Assets Australia, our ‘Can I Foster?’ campaign raised awareness of the need for more foster carers in Australia by creating a captivating (link: https://www.facebook.com/keyassetsaustralia/videos/715648478575761/ text: social experiment) and supporting it with social media, PR and advertising.

The awareness campaign was developed in response to an omnibus survey which found that almost 50% of Australians knew nothing, or very little, about foster care. This came at a time where more than 43,000 children were in need of care and protection.

The campaign resulted in more than 1300 people enquiring to become foster carers in the first 4 weeks, with the social experiment reaching 13 countries and millions of people. Most importantly, the campaign raised awareness of the need for more foster carers, sparking conversations across Australia and the world, encouraging people to ask themselves, can I foster?

Superdream PR Manager Nicole Hope said: “We are delighted to have been able to work on a project that allowed us to play a part in making a positive and lasting difference to vulnerable children.”

Superdream managing director Jason Manning added, “This award is fantastic recognition for the team at Superdream Australia, as well as the Dreamers in the UK that supported them in the design and delivery of this brilliantly successful, truly integrated campaign. This was the first large scale campaign to come out of our Brisbane office – it’s fantastic to have won both the state and national award in what was a competitive category.

“It’s been an excellent year for Superdream both at home and here in Australia and we look forward to more success in 2017.”

Superdream launched in the UK in 2012 and has become one of the UK’s fastest growing agencies with more than 50 people working across digital, PR, marketing and advertising. The agency established its second office, based in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, in January, enabling the business to offer clients in both southern and northern hemispheres a ‘24 hour agency’ service.

The Public Relations Institute of Australia’s Golden Target Awards have recognised excellence in public relations for 40 years. The awards celebrate the achievements of the industry, identifying innovative and exciting public relations and communications programs.
