An Arghh-mazing Campaign
Talk Like a Pirate Day is the flagship fundraiser for Childhood Cancer Support. The campaign sees schools, childcare centres, workplaces, and community groups host pirate-themed events to help raise funds and awareness for the charity. Childhood Cancer Support engaged us to manage all the marketing and communication elements for the campaign in 2022

Our solution:
Superdream worked with Childhood Cancer Support on the campaign in 2021. Based on those learnings, we implemented a new website, campaign creative, and email journey to ‘raise the sail’ for 2022 participants.
The content needed to connect with a range of audiences, from schools to workplaces and community groups. After the creative concepts and new website were implemented, we worked on a three-phased digital advertising campaign and an eDM recruitment campaign.
In the months leading up to the campaign, we created media releases targeting the regional areas of Queensland and connecting the local families who have been supported by Childhood Cancer Support.
To support the campaign, we managed an ambassadorship with Captain Feathersword, which included promotional videos and appearances at the media launch.
When September hit, and it was time to set sail, we worked with Childhood Cancer Support on their media launch, where Captain Feathersword took a CityCat hostage with Childhood Cancer Support families. This media launch was featured on Channel 9, with charity mentions and a call to donate.
