*There’s a perfectly innocent reason there’s been lots of talk of ‘F.A.N.Y’ in the Superdream office of late. We’ve been helping a brilliant local theatre company promote the West End run of their critically acclaimed play of the same name. Account Executive Lucy Barratt-Smith tells us more…*

**Superdream gets creative with Anonymous is a Woman Theatre Company**

Remember at school when you studied GCSE English, and at the end of many of the older poems, where the author’s name should be, it simply said ‘Anonymous’? Well, did you know that there was a strong chance that that ‘Anonymous’ was actually a woman?

(link: http://www.aiawtc.com/ text: Anonymous Is A Woman Theatre Company) was founded by two Drama Centre London graduates, Bips Mawson and Leila Sykes. The Worcestershire-based, not-for-profit group was set up ‘as a response to women’s under-representation in society, history and thus in theatre.’ So when they asked for our support, we knew this was right up our street.

Little did we know that our first project for AIAWTC would provide so much office entertainment. Why? Because it was all about their latest production – F.A.N.Y.

So what is F.A.N.Y? Firstly, it’s a great excuse for our lovely bunch of creatives to say the word as many times as possible, with a cheeky grin on their face, without getting a talking to.

F.A.N.Y. was also our opportunity to take a trip to the capital and ask the general public what they thought about this smirk-inducing – but in fact totally innocent – acronym, and what it refers to. And we did just that.

A sunny afternoon in March, Doug, our Creative Director, and I took to the streets of Covent Garden and asked the general public what they knew about F.A.N.Y. And unsurprisingly, this was the result:

But what actually *is* FANY? F.A.N.Y. is AIAWTC’s latest production, about a society of women – the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (totally innocent, I told you) – who rescued injured soldiers in World War One. Our task was to not only raise awareness of the play, but also prove that the F.A.N.Y. deserve more recognition. And with special thanks to the people of London – mission complete.

We have also been helping out on the PR and social media front, securing a listing in the Metro, creating a buzz online and ensuring the press night was a sell-out.
