Were you showered with gifts, cards and flowers this Valentine’s Day?
Here at Superdream, we decided to give a few little tokens of appreciation of our own with a(link: https://www.superdream.co.uk/lovethyneighbour/ text: n experiment to help our team get to know each other better popup: true title: #LoveThyNeighbour).
You may have (link: https://www.superdream.co.uk/lovethyneighbour/ text: read previously popup: true title: #LoveThyNeighbour) that we’d given every member of the team an empty envelope. The task was to fill those envelopes with nice messages; an opportunity to tell our colleagues something we like, admire or appreciate about them.
The result was a huge success with a flurry of excitement and giggling on Friday morning as we got to open our envelopes.
Here’s what some of our team thought about the exercise:
“#Lovethyneighbour was a huge success! When I first heard about it, I feared it could turn into a bit of a high school popularity contest with some people receiving lots of love notes and others feeling a bit left out but, actually, it was **great fun and very inclusive**.
“It was a truly brilliant way to bring us together and created a **positive vibe throughout the business**. I definitely think we should do it again next year.”
“It really created a **buzz** in the office, and seemed to put a smile on everyone’s face. It was great to see everyone wanting to write so many to loads of different people, and getting numerous phone calls saying they’d run out of slips!”
“It was **very easy to do** – I think I wrote about 8 notes in the end. Seeing the envelopes on the wall made me want to write one for everyone.”
“I’ve not seen this being done anywhere else, and I thought it was **a lovely unique idea**. It was really nice to spend some time thinking about your colleagues and what they mean to you.”
“I’d definitely recommend other companies do this kind of thing. It was lots of fun and **made us feel special**.”
