How well do you know the people you work with?
We’re probably all guilty of setting-up camp at our desks with noses to keyboards and headphones in, especially when deadlines are looming and time is tight.
But there are lots of advantages to getting to know your colleagues a little better. (link: https://hbr.org/2013/07/we-all-need-friends-at-work text: Research shows popup: true title: Harvard Business Review – we all need friends at work) that staff are happier when they have friendships at work; the social element not only makes a job a lot more fun, but it also becomes more satisfying and valued for being worthwhile.
Happy workers of course also tend to be more productive – and particularly significant for an agency like Superdream – more creative.
So for this Valentine’s Day the Superdream team will be getting to know each other a little better. (Not in that way…) We’re running an experiment that will encourage us to show more appreciation towards each other and strike up more conversations – helping us to build a stronger, and even more creative, team.
We’ve stuck an envelope with everyone’s name on up on the walls of Superdream HQ. Over the next two days, we’ll be writing notes to our co-workers about something we like, admire or appreciate about them, and dropping the notes in the envelopes.
Then on Friday we’ll get to read all of the lovely things our colleagues have written about us.
We’ll be sharing them on Twitter (link: https://twitter.com/wearesuperdream text: @wearesuperdream popup: true title: Follow us on Twitter @wearesuperdream) so make sure you follow us to see how our experiment goes. You can join in too – tell us the little things you love about your co-workers on Twitter with the hashtag **#LoveThyNeighbour**.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
